A multinational alliance of fans of Korean pop group BTS has released a statement expressing support for band member Suga, who was recently involved in a drink-driving incident.

“The Global ARMY Alliance supports all seven members of BTS,” the collective of BTS fan groups said on multiple social media platforms on Monday.
Suga has faced intense media and fan attention since the incident last month, and over the weekend he was actively pressured by online commentators to leave the group.
The affair began when Seoul police took Suga (real name Min Yoon-gi, stage name Agust D) in for questioning on August 6 after he fell to the ground while riding an electric scooter.
