Camila Mendes cast as Teela in live-action film 'Masters of the Universe' | THR News
Camila Mendes has joined the cast of "Masters of the Universe." The "Riverdale" actor will play the role of Teela opposite Nicholas Galitzine, who plays the blonde barbarian known as He Man.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but according to a previous synopsis from the studio, "Masters of the Universe" follows Prince Adam of Eternia, aka He-Man, who crashes on Earth in a spaceship as a child and returns to his home planet decades later to defend it from the evil forces of the villain Skeletor. But to defeat the powerful villain, he must unravel the mysteries of his past and become He-Man, referred to in this world as "the most powerful man in the universe." Teela is a warrior responsible for protecting Eternia's royal family and may or may not become Prince Adam's romantic interest.
Travis Knight ("Bumblebee") is directing the film for Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel. The long-delayed film is set to hit theaters on June 5, 2026. Chris Butler is penning the script after David Callaham and the Nee Brothers took a first stab at the script, inspired by the 1982 action figure.
