Anthony Mackie takes flight in the first trailer for Marvel Studios' Captain America: Brave New World, the fourth installment in the Cap franchise and the first since Chris Evans' Steve Rogers retired from superherodom in 2019's Avengers: Endgame.
Captain America: Brave New World | New Trailer (HD)
In the new teaser, Sam Wilson from Mackie, formerly known as The Falcon, is recruited by newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross (Harrison Ford, replacing William Hurt in his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut) to officially fill the vacancy of Captain and also become an American agent.
The captain wastes no time in stopping a potential assassin in the White House. And then things get heated. The rapid-fire clip ends with a literal roar and a quick look at new character Red Hulk throwing Captain America’s shield to the ground like it’s a toy. It’s not clear from the trailer, but in the comics, Red Hulk is an alter ego of Thunderbolt Ross. (Imagine Harrison Ford transforming into a giant, 1,000-pound red monster.)
Mackie's The Falcon officially took over the role of Captain America in the 2021 finale of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier on Disney+.
