Carrie Coon began her Wednesday with extreme fatigue from lack of sleep and a packed room full of family members visiting when she learned of her first nomination for her role as socialite Bertha Russell in HBO's The Gilded Age.

But it wasn't until she heard that her husband Tracy Letts had received a nomination for his role as Jack McKinney in HBO's Winning Time: The Rise Of The Lakers Dynasty that she actually started to cry. The Gilded Age ended up with six nominations — including one for Best Drama and one for Best Supporting Actress for Christine Baranski — but she was even giddier to be the one to inform her husband of his shout-out in the guest actor category.

"I sent a video to my husband and said, 'Tracy, you got an Emmy nomination. Oh my God,'" she tells Deadline. "I immediately started crying and my family was like, 'You didn't cry when you got nominated, but you cry when Tracy gets nominated. So we got his and her Emmy nominations! He's in town for a photo shoot and that's the first he's heard about it. He had no idea. He watched the livestream to see if I got nominated and then he turned it off so he wouldn't be rude.'"
