After three seasons, it should be easier to cast the kids on ABC's "Abbott Elementary," but Emmy-nominated casting director Wendy O'Brien says the show's popularity has made that harder.

“It’s a struggle to find and screen young actors who don’t have a lot of experience, especially when you’re talking about a kindergarten class,” admits O’Brien, who won gold for the same show two years ago.
While a 5 or 6-year-old may not have a lot of acting experience, O'Brien says the benefit of the show and its success is that she's seen an increase in the number of kids applying to her.
“A lot of them are auditioning in beautiful blue shirts, already in character. We are definitely seeing more newcomers coming in,” she says.
