Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director General Gregorio Catapang Jr. has fired a prison guard who was arrested for his involvement in the murder of a 70-year-old mother and her son.

Catapang fired prison guard Pio Jonathan Eulallio, who was nominated by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Friday (July 26) as one of the detainees for the murder of businesswoman Gloria Ortega and her son Christian Ortega last month.
The NBI also arraigned former custodial inmate Raymond Reyes, who was released from the Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) on April 24 after serving his sentence for murder.
The BuCor chief stated: “That is one of the reasons why I am here, to cleanse the bureau of miscreants.”
