"The Lord of the Rings" is one of the highest-grossing film franchises of all time, having grossed $2.9 billion worldwide. But according to Cate Blanchett, that doesn't necessarily mean the actors earned a hefty salary for their involvement in Peter Jackson's film trilogy.

On Tuesday night's "Watch What Happens Live," host Andy Cohen asked Blanchett which film earned her the most money. "I think it's probably 'Lord of the Rings,'" Cohen guessed.
"Are you kidding?" Blanchett replied. "No, nobody got paid to make that movie."
When Cohen asked her if she had “been given a piece of the backend,” Blanchett replied, “No! That was long before any of that happened. No, nothing.”
