According to CBS News, Kay Wenal’s husband, Hal, discovered his wife’s lifeless body in their Gwinnett County, Georgia home. Wenal’s husband called authorities after seeing her body lying in a pool of blood on the kitchen floor. The publication reported that Kay Wenal had missed work the day of the murder and had called in sick. Additionally, the killer had the idea that Wenal would be home. Investigators believe the unknown assailant entered the home through the front door. Although there were no signs of forced entry, they deduced that she must have let the killer in.
