Why Drake Just Admitted the Kendrick Feud Ruined His Career
EXCLUSIVE: Kendrick Lamar and Drake's feud nearly caused an internet stir earlier this year, and Channel 4 is now addressing it in a full-length documentary.
Public Enemies: Kendrick vs Drake will draw on archival material and interviews with people who knew and worked with the megastar rappers, charting their rise to fame. It will explore how and why Lamar, the visionary and poet from Compton, and Drake, the former child actor from Toronto, became so universally acclaimed, while contextualizing their careers through the contemporary history and culture that created them.
Produced by Acme Films and GroupM Motion Entertainment, Public Enemies will also explore the feud that reached new heights earlier this year following a series of diss tracks the rappers shared, culminating with Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” which subtly accused Drake of pedophilia and disrespecting the rap scene, before Drake responded with denials on “The Heart Part 6.” Several music publications have since described Lamar as the winner of the feud.
