Channing Tatum is hoping his dream of a Gambit film can become a reality after appearing as the X-Men character in Deadpool and Wolverine.

It's been nine years since Tatum and producing partner Reid Carolin began developing a standalone Gambit film for 20th Century Fox. Unfortunately, that dream seemed to be dashed in 2019 when Disney merged with Fox.
But now that he finally has the chance to put on those Cajun accents and throw those cards on the big screen, Tatum is eager to revive that dream. When asked by Variety at the premiere of his new film Blink Twice, he said, "I certainly hope so. From your mouth to God's ears. Write it in life, my friend. Please."
Tatum has also talked about it at Marvel. "I've said it, of course. I've been saying I want it for 10 years," Tatum said. "It's in the hands of Bob Iger and Kevin Feige. I pray to God."
