Chicago Fire casts KaDee Strickland for season 13
She will play Monica Pascal, the estranged wife of new fire chief Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney). As Deadline reported in July, Mulroney joined the hit firefighting drama as Boden's (Eamonn Walker) successor after his departure as a series regular in the Season 12 finale.
Before Boden was promoted to Deputy Commissioner of the Chicago Fire Department, he had chosen Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) as his successor. The introduction of Dom Pascal would derail that plan, and Eigenberg shared insights with Deadline earlier this month about why Herrmann might pass up the opportunity.
"I want to say he felt like the ground was being pulled out from under him, because I don't think [Herrmann] anticipated what the chief was saying to him," he said during the NBC segment of TCA. "In real firefighting, there are firefighters who stay firefighters their entire careers. So when you become a lieutenant, you're not called a firefighter. You're a fireman, you're just not called that anymore."
