It’s never easy saying goodbye to a character and actor after a long run on a show, and the one making an appearance in the Chicago Fire season 12 finale is going to be extra emotional. We know, because it’s Eamonn Walker, who’s played Wallace Boden since the beginning of the series, and the promo warns us it’s going to be an emotional send-off.

Chicago Fire 12×13 Promo "Never Say Goodbye" (HD) Season Finale | Boden Farewell Episode

In fact, the entire promo (which you can watch in its entirety above) is about his farewell, with the firefighters and paramedics gathering in Boden's office. "You've made 51 a family, Chief, and this firehouse a home," Cruz (Joe Minoso) says. Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) adds, "You've inspired a group of firefighters who know the meaning of bravery."

And based on the photos for the episode, titled "Never Say Goodbye," he'll show what it means to be brave at least one more time, as Boden appears to be getting in on the action, too.

In the finale, Boden makes a decision that impacts the race for Deputy Commissioner. Plus, a tense phone call brings back painful memories for Carver (Jake Lockett) and Damon (Michael Bradway), and Mouch (Christian Stolte) struggles to adjust to the new Truck. (Remember: They needed a new one after the vehicle was stolen in the 250th episode, with Taylor Kinney's Severide aboard.)
