Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte has reaffirmed his strong commitment to combating child labor and providing a better future for children.
The Education Problem in the Philippines Explained
"The incidence of child labor in many parts of the world, including the Philippines, has increased dramatically in recent years. This is an alarming trend. Children should be in classrooms learning, not in factories or on the fields earning money," Duterte said.
Duterte recently partnered with the regional office of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the private sector and non-governmental organizations to ensure the welfare of children.
The legislator indicated that he is confident that providing assistance and other forms of interventions to low-income parents will contribute to eliminating child labor in the country.
