Chile, which recently won a series of awards at Venice for Chilean films, will be the focus country of Venice Production Bridge in 2025.
The announcement is made Thursday at the Venice Film Festival by Chile's Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage, Carolina Arredondo, as Chilean director Pablo Larraín's "María," starring Angelina Jolie as legendary opera singer Maria Callas, makes its world premiere on Venice's Lido.
“This is an important achievement for our creators, who have found in Venice a crucial platform to internationalize their projects,” Arredondo stressed. “As a Focusland, we can strengthen Chile’s audiovisual industry and attract new opportunities for co-production and global promotion.”
