The Philippines is set to file a diplomatic protest against China over a “dangerous and provocative” incident involving the harassment of a Philippine Air Force (PAF) aircraft near Bajo de Masinloc on August 8.

“I was informed that a diplomatic protest would be filed within a day,” Maria Teresita Daza, deputy secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), said in a brief statement.
According to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Chinese forces used flares to intimidate the PAF aircraft during the incident.
The DFA is taking swift action in response to this latest act of aggression in the West Philippine Sea (WPS).
