BEIJING, July 31 (Reuters) – China's ruling Communist Party has expelled Wang Yilin, former chairman and party secretary of state-owned China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC), for disciplinary violations, state media reported on Wednesday.

According to the state television CCTV report, Wang had illegally accepted valuable assets and goods and abused his position to help others gain benefits in closing projects and conducting business.
He also repeatedly accepted trips organized by private entrepreneurs, the report said.
According to state media, Wang's case will be transferred to the Public Prosecutor's Office for further investigation, in accordance with the law.
