If anyone needed a reminder of just how lasting a legacy former HBO CEO Chris Albrecht has left on the TV landscape, it arrived last week in the form of a pact Netflix made to bring the “Sex and the City” catalog to its streaming service. Normally, a one-off licensing deal for a 20-year-old series wouldn’t make headlines, but since “Sex” was one of several megahits Albrecht greenlit at HBO, he’s seen as the mastermind behind the brand that led the way into the golden age of TV at the turn of the century.
But that might as well have been a century ago, given all that has happened since then. Last week, he was in Miami to meet with executives from primarily the Latin American media market, who were in town for the second annual Content Americas conference.
