CJ CGV's Entry into Russia / YTN KOREAN
EXCLUSIVE: V Pictures, a subsidiary of the Vietnamese arm of Korean cinema operator CJ CGV, is going all out to boost international sales of Vietnamese films here at the Asian Contents and Film Market (ACFM) in Busan. Films showing include recent hits Face Off 7: One Wish and Ma Da: The Drowning Spirit.
Face Off 7: One Wish, directed by Ly Hai, is the latest installment in a successful franchise and the second highest-grossing Vietnamese film of all time. Since its release in April 2024, the film has grossed over $19 million. V Pictures has already distributed the film in Taiwan and Singapore.
Horror film Ma Da, directed by Nguyen Huu Hoang, is the highest-grossing Vietnamese horror film ever at the local box office with a gross of $5.1 million (VND126 billion). It also recently became the second highest-grossing Vietnamese film of all time in Taiwan.
