Former WWE Champion CM Punk recently visited the performance center for his upcoming RAW appearance. Punk has been sidelined since the Royal Rumble with a triceps injury, but that hasn't stopped him. He's kept his rivalry with Drew McIntyre interesting with regular appearances on WWE programming.
CM Punk Makes His First SummerSlam Appearance in Over 10 Years
Their feud escalated when CM Punk was forced to leave WrestleMania 40 due to an injury, with Drew McIntyre taking his place. At WrestleMania, Punk attacked McIntyre's World Heavyweight Championship match, but Punk took him out twice, causing McIntyre's attempts to win the title to be lost. At WWE Clash at Castle: Scotland, McIntyre's home base, and then at Money in the Bank.
WWE previewed a match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre for SummerSlam, just two weeks away, on the latest edition of RAW. However, the segment took a turn when McIntyre was asked to apologize to the referee, but he refused, prompting Adam Pearce to remind him that his suspension is still in effect.
Meanwhile, WWE continues to hint at the match between the former champions for SummerSlam. However, CM Punk has yet to receive medical clearance from WWE. Interestingly, he was recently spotted at WWE's Performance Center, which houses training, scientific and medical facilities for wrestlers.
