The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has reminded the public not to believe fake messages on social media.

“To prevent the importance of becoming halalan, the Verified Blue Check Badge ng Meta may affect the use of COMELEC,” it advised.
The COMELEC issued this advice after taking note of a Facebook post announcing that the polling agency and GMA Network would sign a partnership on August 5 for the 2025 elections.
“Bagamat was about to involve COMELEC and GMA Network in the introduction of an impormasyon patungkol on halalan, MALI on HINDI TOTOO and the impormasyon of a fake account at that time,” the polling agency said.
