Mottola revealed on Twitter that new Miramax president Jonathan Glickman, who was appointed as the studio's new CEO in April of last year, was reportedly the one who decided to scrap the Confess sequel, Fletch.
Unfortunately, the new boss at Miramax, who controls the rights to all the books, has shot down my follow-up project. The Fletch curse has me.
Confess, Fletch was directed by Mottola, who co-wrote the screenplay with Zev Borow, based on the 1976 novel of the same name by Gregory McDonald. The film also stars Roy Wood Jr., Annie Mumolo, Ayden Mayeri, Lorenzo Izzo, John Slattery, Kyle MacLachlan, Marcia Gay Harden, Robert Picardo, John Behlmann, Lucy Punch, and more. Upon its debut, the film received positive reviews from critics. The film currently holds a Certified Fresh rating of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes.
