France Castro, vice-chair of the House of Representatives Minority Group and leader of the Australian Capital Territory Teachers' Party, has strongly denied Vice President Sara Duterte's claim that she attempted to correct the misguided priorities of the Department of Education (DepEd) during her tenure as agency secretary.
OVP led by Sara Duterte spent confidential funds of 125 million pesos in 11 days
“Saan banda?! If you want to clean up confidential funds, you can earn your money with a mandate to collect your money. The point is that the budget is subject to UN standards or 6% of GDP is prohibited,” Castro stressed.
According to Castro, Duterte has failed to address critical problems in the education sector, including the persistent shortage of classrooms and the lack of substantial salary increases for teachers and educational support staff.
“The Hindi male cannot go to the classroom in the hanging gang ngayon for more than 150,000 years per year. Hindi can contribute significantly to the daily efforts of teaching support staff. There are many educational decorations in the classrooms of the Maga-aaral curriculum in Hindi, she added.
