The first two episodes premiere on the streaming service on Thursday, June 6. (It's Criminal Minds' 17th season, after the original had 15.) The remainder of the 10-episode season will debut weekly on Thursdays. Check out the photos above and below for a look at the BAU—Rossi (Joe Mantegna), Prentiss (Paget Brewster), JJ (AJ Cook), Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness), Lewis (Aisha Tyler), and Luke (Adam Rodriguez)—along with Tyler (Ryan-James Hatanaka) on the case and Zach Gilford, still out there (and in prison) as serial killer Elias Voit.
The new season of Criminal Minds: Evolution begins as the FBI’s elite team of profilers investigates the deadly mystery of Gold Star. As the conspiracy unfolds, the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) faces an unexpected complication when serial killer Elias Voit negotiates a deal that will see him transferred to federal custody in the BAU’s backyard. Facing their greatest threat yet, the team may not emerge unscathed from the mind-bending fallout.
Felicity Huffman was previously announced as a guest star, playing the ex-wife of the late Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin, in the original Criminal Minds), Dr. Jill Gideon. She’s a brilliant biological psychiatrist who agrees to help the FBI’s BAU investigate a murderous conspiracy theory. Jill is hesitant to return to the agency’s elite team due to her complicated history with Ross and Gideon, but soon realizes that her specific skills could help them uncover another clue to the elusive Gold Star mystery.
