Shudder has acquired Benjamin Barfoot's paranormal horror film Daddy's Head and set a release date for the Halloween season.

The rights deal includes North America, the UK, Ireland and New Zealand. Barfoot’s second film will be released exclusively on the horror streaming service on October 11, 2024.

The story of Daddy's Head concerns a young boy and his young, recently widowed stepmother who fear for their lives after they are visited by a strange and unexplained creature – something that seems to be a terrifying version of the boy's recently deceased father.

Daddy's Head is written and directed by Benjamin Barfoot (Double Date). Matthew James Wilkinson and Patrick Tolan of Stigma Films produce. It stars Julia Brown (BBC's World of Fire), Nathaniel Martello-White (Small Axe: Mangrove), Charles Aitken (Happy Death Day), Kaisa Hammarlund (The Nest), Mary Woodvine (Enys Men), Ako Mitchell (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness), Deepica Stephen and Nila Aalia (The Commuter).
