Veteran Hollywood film producer Daniel Selznick dies at age 88.
Daniel Mayer Selznick, one of Hollywood's last direct connections to the families that founded the film industry, died of natural causes on Thursday, August 1, at the age of 88 at the Motion Picture Country Home in Woodland Hills, California.
A beloved resident of the retirement home for many years, he oversaw the construction of the Louis B. Mayer Theater on campus and spoke at the opening of the renovated theater complex in 2017.
During his time at the Motion Picture Home, he wrote a memoir, Walking with Kings, which will be published next year by Alfred Knopf. The book describes in vivid detail the author's memories of his youth as a young prince of Hollywood.
