Joe Biden: Comedy Gold | Letterman
Joe Biden is off the campaign trail this weekend due to Covid, but with calls growing among lawmakers and donors for the sitting president to resign, POTUS plans to keep things a little later tonight and with a little Aloha.
The president, along with First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, will attend a July 29 event on Martha’s Vineyard with David Letterman and Hawaii Gov. Josh Green, Deadline has confirmed. “Please join me for an exciting event with First Lady Jill Biden on Martha’s Vineyard,” Robin Leeds, a veteran political strategist, wrote in an invitation sent out Thursday night. “This is a unique opportunity to meet Jill during her first visit to the island this cycle and to become more involved in the campaign,” the CEO of Winning Strategies and member of the President’s Advisory Committee on the Arts added.
Deadline saw that the invitation to the Biden Victory Fund event listed Letterman as a "Special Guest." Later today, as more and more Democrats went public with Biden dropping out of the race against Donald Trump, the president himself was added to the fundraiser with the First Lady.
