David Lynch vows to 'never retire' despite emphysema diagnosis #DavidLynch #NeverRetire
In a post on X, Lynch said he has emphysema from smoking over the years, and that while he enjoys smoking, he's had to quit. Lynch noted that he's now in "great shape" despite his emphysema, and "will never retire."
"Ladies and gentlemen, yes, I have emphysema from my years of smoking," Lynch said. "I have to say that I really enjoyed smoking, and I love tobacco — the smell of it, lighting cigarettes, smoking them — but there is a price to pay for that enjoyment, and that price for me is emphysema. I have been quitting smoking for over two years now.
"I have had many tests recently and the good news is that I am in excellent condition, apart from emphysema. I am filled with happiness and I will never retire. I want you all to know that I truly appreciate your concern. Love, David"
