Preparations for the proposed 5.768 trillion peso national budget for 2024 are now in their final stages, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) said on Wednesday.

DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said next year's budget is expected to be submitted to Congress a few days after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s second State of the Nation Address on July 24.
The National Expenditure Program (NEP) for 2024 was already presented to Marcos Jr. yesterday, Pangandaman said in a news forum today.
She added that the proposal will be submitted to the cabinet on Thursday for final approval.
