Golden Globe winner Jennifer Garner has finally broken her silence about her recent return as Elektra Natchios in Marvel Studios' Deadpool & Wolverine. Garner first played the Marvel assassin in the 2003 Daredevil film with Ben Affleck. She reprised the role once more in her own Elektra film in 2005.
Jennifer Garner's Shocking Transformation for 'Deadpool & Wolverine'
On Instagram, Garner dropped her training video for Deadpool & Wolverine, showing her preparation for her return as Elektra. In her post, she confirmed that Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy reached out to her to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe film during production of their 2022 film The Adam Project.
“I remember when Shawn and Ryan had the idea to have Elektra Natchios appear in Deadpool & Wolverine — we were on the set of The Adam Project and they gave each other that look they have where they can communicate an idea, 20 pages of dialogue, nuclear codes — there's this crazy artistic kismet between those two,” Garner wrote.
“I didn’t know Elektra and I needed an ending, but Shawn and Ryan did. They’re gifted in so many ways, but seeing and uplifting the people around them is at the top of the list. Shauna Duggins (Garner’s original Elektra stunt double) and I were in heaven on set with them, with my old buddy Hugh Jackman, Dafne Keen, Channing Tatum, Wesley Snipes. It was so much fun filming the fight, just being there together — it was a dream come true. I’m proud of my friends and grateful to be there with them. Thank you isn’t enough, guys, but it’s a good temporary stopgap until I figure out what is good.”
