Deadpool & Wolverine is currently making waves around the world and is having a great run at the global box office. Fans have been particularly positive about the slew of cameos that have been featured in the film. One of the unexpected appearances was that of Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, who was seen crying in a short clip. Ryan Reynolds has now come forward to reveal the reason behind Thor’s breakdown in Deadpool & Wolverine.
We think we know why Thor cried over Deadpool
Without answering the question, Ryan Reynolds indicated that he knows why Thor cried in Deadpool and Wolverine.
In the film's opening moments, the Merc with a Mouth has a conversation with Mr. Paradox in a Time Variance Authority facility. During their interaction, the TVA inadvertently gives Reynolds' Wade Wilson a glimpse into his supposed future as an Avenger. The clip shows Thor shedding a tear as he holds a mortally wounded Deadpool. Before any behind-the-scenes explanation can be given, Mr. Paradox quickly switches the subject. Fans have heatedly debated the sequence, coming up with multiple theories to clarify Thor's role in the film.
Ryan Reynolds has since solved the mystery himself, stating that he's aware of the context behind Thor's cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine. In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Canadian-American actor wrote, "I know why Thor cried. I can't unsee it." However, he held back from sharing the reason behind Chris Hemsworth's much-discussed appearance.
