Deadpool & Wolverine passes 500 million in global box office grosses
After a massive, record-breaking opening weekend, Marvel/Disney’s Deadpool & Wolverine is quickly heading toward the $500 million worldwide box office. With Monday’s numbers included, the duo has now grossed $496.3 million worldwide. If today’s numbers are included, the Shawn Levy-directed sequel will have passed the five-century mark.
On Monday, it pulled in another $26.5 million from all overseas markets, up 13% from its debut weekend. This brings its international box office total to $260.5 million through July 29. Domestic is at $235.8 million.
Disney on Monday raised its opening weekend total to $444.1 million versus the $438.3 million estimate it reported on Sunday. The difference was largely due to an even bigger domestic performance: The studio's estimate on Sunday was $205 million for North America, which rose to $211 million when actual numbers were calculated on Monday. The offshore launch number dipped a bit to $233.1 million versus $233.3 million.
