The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Monday (July 22) warned that it will take action against those behind the fake video of President Marcos.

“The Department of Justice is committed to upholding the law and will take all necessary measures to identify and prosecute those responsible for this fraudulent act,” the department said of a video showing a man resembling Marcos snorting what appear to be illegal drugs.
Because the video was released before the president's State of the Nation Address, the Justice Department said it “clearly indicates an intent to undermine the credibility of the President and the critical speech he is about to deliver.”
“This malicious act undermines public trust and poses a threat to public order through the spread of misinformation,” the report said.
