At Home with the Furys producer Demi Doyle is opening a Banijay-backed label called Workerbee.
Doyle heads up Navybee, which focuses on talent-driven premium docs. She spent the last seven years at All3Media-backed Optomen, where she produced Netflix hit At Home with the Furys, alongside ITV’s Tyson Fury: The Gypsy King, while developing and producing BBC hit Sort Your Life Out with Stacey Solomon. Prior to Optomen, she produced The Secret Life of 4,5,6 Year Olds, The Apprentice, Gogglebox, Educating Cardiff and London and Naked Attraction.
Doyle’s new label is riding the wave of premium docs with big talent and access. Workerbee has produced films like Lifetime’s Janet Jackson and Netflix’s Human Playground, narrated by Idris Elba. After an additional round of funding from Banijay, the company recently became a group and backed Welsh production label Ty’r Ddraig. Navybee is the second label to be launched under its umbrella.
