The “Demi-ssance” takes the Toronto Film Festival by storm.
Demi Moore prepares for Cannes party | Vogue France
And Demi Moore, who is at the center of the storm thanks to her make-or-break performance as an actress who makes a pact with the devil in exchange for eternal youth in "The Substance," was feted Friday night at the Variety Cover Party at TIFF, sponsored by J. Crew and Shark.
“I’m incredibly humbled by this whole experience,” Moore, who was accompanied by her teacup Chihuahua, Pilaf, said in a brief speech. “This film has some really powerful themes about aging and beauty, about the standards that we all hold ourselves to.”
Moore went on to say that she hoped the film would spark conversations about "the negative self-talk" that many people experience, a conversation that could lead to "a cultural shift." It would be a change in perception that Moore said could lead to "the greater expansion of beauty in all its shapes, sizes, colors and preferences."
