Democrats focused on 'rebuilding' Kamala Harris' 'image'
Kamala Harris’s stirring speech on the final night of the Democratic National Convention capped four days of campaigning, testimony, sermons and loud warnings about the dangers posed by the prospect of a second Donald Trump presidency.
At every opportunity, Democrats used four days of prime-time TV to improve their image with middle-class voters. Flags were waved and chants of “USA, USA, USA” were heard all week — including during the three-minute standing ovation Harris received when she took the stage to close a week of testimony on her fitness to be the next president of the United States.
Numerous speakers described Harris' quest for the White House as akin to a religious movement to protect the soul of America and the architecture of democracy. And speaker after speaker pledged his commitment to the country.
