EXCLUSIVE: Westworld alums Denise Thé and Desa Larkin-Boutté are reteaming for The Getaway, the series adaptation of Lamar Giles' YA novel, executive produced by Don Cheadle and in development at Sony Pictures TV.
Thé has been tapped to write and produce the series adaptation through Third Rail Productions as part of her deal with Sony Pictures Television. Larkin-Boutté has been tapped to co-write the script.
The near-future horror drama is about what would happen if the world fell into chaos and you and your family were trapped in one of the world’s most famous resorts, with some of the world’s richest and most powerful people as guests. Unbeknownst to the employees, the resort is selling shares in an oasis at the end of the world, in order to have the best of the best at the end of time. What they didn’t count on was a group of teenagers, and the lengths they would go to to find out the truth and save themselves.
