Despicable Me director Chris Renaud believes the Minions don't need a live-action film.
Despicable Me director speaks out about possible Minions live-action film
Renaud previously worked on a number of films in the Despicable Me franchise. He directed 2010's Despicable Me and 2013's Despicable Me 2 with Pierre Coffin, while he recently directed 2024's Despicable Me 4 alone.
He also served as executive producer on 2015's Minions and 2017's Despicable Me 3, and produced 2022's Minions: The Rise of Gru.
Speaking to Film Hounds magazine, Renaud was asked if it was possible for Illumination to make a live-action Minions film, given the financial success Disney has had with adapting some of their animated films into live-action.
