UPDATE: Thomas Jolly, the artistic director of the 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony, has denied that a controversial scene involving drag queens was inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper.
Jolly told news channel BFMTV on Sunday that the scene has nothing to do with the iconic Renaissance painting depicting Jesus having his last meal with the 12 apostles, telling them that one of them will betray him.
