Now that financial results are better than expected, Disney wants to spend money in Europe.

According to Jan Koeppen, EMEA director, interviewed in the FT this morning, the Mouse House plans to spend at least $5 billion on successful films and TV series on the continent over the next five years.

Put into context, however, spending won't increase much from the past five years and could even be lower. In June, Koeppen revealed that Disney had spent around £3.5 billion ($4.5 billion) on production in the UK alone over the past five years.
