Disneyland union workers reach tentative agreement on contract, averting potential strike
UPDATE: Today, unions representing 14,000 cast members at Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, Downtown Disney and the Disney hotels announced that their members voted to ratify new three-year contracts with Disney.
“Today’s vote is a historic victory for Cast Members, who stood firm against corporate power and remained united despite the company’s unlawful actions,” said Ellie Gonzalez, a concierge at Disney California Adventure and member of the Disney Workers Rising bargaining committee. “We secured historic pay increases that will allow me to build a better future for the family I am building. For the first time, we won seniority compensation that recognizes our years of service to Disney and the critical role we play in making it one of the most profitable companies in the world. These victories would not have been possible without the strength shown by each Cast Member throughout our bargaining process.”
