Donald Trump plans to travel to Milwaukee today after surviving an assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Donald Trump lands in Milwaukee for Republican National Convention
"Based on the horrific events of yesterday, I was going to postpone my trip to Wisconsin and the Republican National Convention by two days, but I've just decided that I can't allow a "shooter" or potential murderer to force changes in the schedule or anything else," he wrote on Truth Social. "Therefore, I will be leaving for Milwaukee today at 3:30pm as planned. Thank you! DJT"
Trump's arrival in Milwaukee has led to speculation that he will attend the convention on Monday night.
He also has not yet announced a running mate, indicating last week during the convention that he was open to one, a rare occurrence in the modern political era. Before the assassination attempt, there were reports that Trump had recently met with three potential candidates, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum.
