Emily Henry is taking the literary world by storm, and we wouldn’t want it any other way. Her latest novel, Funny Story, hit bookstores in April 2024 and became an instant bestseller. We already started thinking about the actors who would be perfect for Daphne, Miles, and more in a film adaptation.

Well, Funny Story fans, we got our wish. A feature film adaptation is in the works, according to Variety . Henry will write the film version of her novel, with Lyrical Media and Ryder Picture Company producing.

Funny Story revolves around Daphne, a small-town librarian who is preparing to marry her perfect boyfriend, Peter. When Peter returns from his bachelor party, he cancels his wedding to Daphne to be with Petra, his childhood best friend, whom he claims he never had feelings for.
