Elizabeth Banks says her film The Invisible Woman is no longer in active development.
Elizabeth Banks Reveals What's Holding Back Invisible Woman Film
In 2019, it was announced that Banks would direct, produce, and star in a new film adaptation of The Invisible Woman. Little news has emerged about the project since then; although Leigh Whannell has since directed The Invisible Man, which was released by Universal Pictures in February 2020.
Speaking to ComicBook, Banks revealed that her film Invisible Woman has been delayed for now, as the sequel to The Invisible Man is still in early development.
"First of all, what happened was they made an Invisible Man movie, and they're making another one," Banks said. "So I think Universal wants to continue that. I'm really interested in the idea that we have, and it's still there, but it's not something that I'm actively working on right now. I'm making a TV show now. Then I've got to make another TV show, and then we'll see what we do."
