The three-time Emmy nominee recently reflected on the "second life" of her on-screen career and how she's transformed from "comedy" to leading lady in her new medical drama A Mistake, which premiered in U.S. theaters last month.
“I didn’t start playing the lead until my second life as an actress here,” she explained to People . “That’s because I was a great ingénue for a long time. I played the lady in a lot of movies alongside some great male leads. And then I had smaller roles in big movies like The Hunger Games and Pitch Perfect , but never really that DC or Marvel movie lead role.”
Banks noted, "I tend to get more comedic roles. So to get this offer felt like, wow, I'm going to be in every scene of this movie, playing a character who's really good at his job, it's all very serious."
