EXCLUSIVE: Sony Pictures International Productions and Mucho Mas Media are developing The Pet Nup, an original romantic comedy directed by Elaine del Valle (Midnight Hustle). The film stars Emeraude Toubia (With Love), Gregg Sulkin (Runaways), Halston Sage (Dark Phoenix) and Emmy winner Jaime Pressly (My Name Is Earl).
We are all about pets
The film's script was written by Tate Hanyok (Sex Appeal) and the storyline is as follows: As a recently divorced couple tries to navigate their new lives and love apart, the arrangement in their "Pet-Nup" forces them to extremes as they fight for custody of the one thing in their lives that cannot be divided in two: their dog.
Javier Chapa will produce for Mucho Mas Media (The Long Game). Phillip Braun will executive produce for Mucho Mas, along with Sherrese Clarke Soares for Harbourview Equity.
Toubia previously starred in Gloria Calderón Kellett's Prime Video series With Love and Freeform's Shadowhunters, and will soon be seen in the title role of Felipe Vargas' horror film Rosario. She also stars opposite Gina Rodriguez and Karla Souza in the upcoming comedy Like It Used to Be.
