But without the legal intervention Epic has been waiting for, none of this will matter.
In February, Apple lifted the ban on Epic's developer account, allowing the company to develop its own storefront within iOS. This is thanks to the EU's Digital Markets Act, which requires Apple to allow third-party storefronts within the App Store.
Apple has been accused of anticompetitive behavior for years, requiring the company to take a 30% cut of in-app purchases. Epic attempted to circumvent this policy in 2020, leading to bans on several iOS apps, including Fortnite.
