The House of Representatives has passed a resolution awarding the Congressional Medal of Excellence to gymnast Carlo Edriel Yulo, who won two gold medals at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

House of Representatives Resolution 1864, filed by a group of lawmakers led by Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, was adopted during the plenary session on Wednesday.
“Caloy Yulo is truly one of the greatest Filipino athletes of all time, who earned the country not just one but two gold medals in the Olympics. I can do the Pilipinos a favor while they help the Filipino people,” Romualdez said.
“It is such an extraordinary achievement that should be emulated by all of us. Hindi man has seen Olympic material but Caloy Yulo is one of the most popular players of his country who can use a lot of hindi lamang to meet pamilya along with bansa,” he added.
