"When Danielle, a happily married thirtysomething, tests positive for a BRCA1 gene mutation, she learns it puts her at high risk for breast and ovarian cancer," the synopsis reads. "Thank you very much, DNA. Now struggling to navigate life, working in her bakery with husband Pat and hanging out with her clueless best friends at game night. Her older, brainy sister Amy is already undergoing chemotherapy for a breast cancer diagnosis. Danielle now contemplates the preemptive removal of her 'ticking time bomb' breasts and reproductive organs before the cancer takes her too. Her decision-making process involves flashbacks to her messed-up childhood with absentee parents, bizarre anesthesia-induced dreams, and toxic confrontations with her recovering alcoholic mother and self-absorbed YEEHAW-filled 70's TV Western star father. Ultimately, Danielle must figure out how to prioritize her health and well-being by putting herself first."
