The video introduces Vancouver-based broadcast journalist Kayee Lee, an aspiring musician trying to fulfill her dream of getting her song sung and recorded. It highlights Lee’s musical journey from Vancouver, British Columbia, to Hong Kong and Nashville, Tennessee, while also exploring the reason why there is still a lack of Asian North American pop stars in today’s mainstream media.
Sing My Song is written, directed and produced by Lee. The film will also feature Lee alongside other Asian American and Asian Canadian singer-songwriters including Far East Movement, Alfa Garcia, Kevin So and Umi Hsu. It is executive produced by Quentin Lee, with Cindy Au Yeung as editor.
