FAITHLESS with Liv Ullmann
Swedish filmmaker Tomas Alfredson’s (Let the Right One In, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) series adaptation of Ingmar Bergman’s Faithless makes its debut in competition as part of the Primetime & Short Cuts lineup at this year’s Toronto Film Festival. Scroll down for the full list.
The series will screen at TIFF on Wednesday, September 11, before being released on SVT and ARTE France in 2025. Fremantle is handling international sales for the series. We shared a first look at the project and interviewed Alfredson in February. You can watch it here.
The project, billed as a "searing tale of love and betrayal," is a six-part TV series based on the 2000 film Faithless, which Ingmar Bergman wrote for his former partner Liv Ullmann. The original film debuted at the Cannes Film Festival and starred Lena Endre and Erland Josephson. The entire series is directed by Alfredson, from scripts adapted by Norwegian writer Sara Johnsen.
